It is really cold! It's so cold that I actually wore shoes that cover my toes yesterday. No socks mind you, but my toes were covered (they weren't sock wearing shoes). Here's the forecast from Monday night & they're saying it may not even been that warm this morning. Keep in mind, on Friday we were taking family pictures in a sunny 65 degrees!
Who knows? And with the windchill (brrrr like -30s-40s), I'm so grateful that there's NO SCHOOL today! Hooray! Strangely, the kids were up at 3:30 am working on surprises for Mom & Dad. I sent them back to bed at 4:15. Then they slept until 7, unheard of in our house! Rick has a 2 hour delay, so we thought (for about a second) about going out to Ow! My Eye! for breakfast (that is Village Inn) but decided we would just make it here at home. Our kids love that place & love it when we make them the Funny Face Pancakes at home.
Yum! Whole Wheat Buttermilk pancakes (w/applesauce) with apple juice, sausage, eggs, grapes, & hot cocoa. Rick was even so kind to put sprinkles on their whipped cream! Oh the excitement!
That warmed most of us up! But poor Eliza, she's still so cold she's resorted to eating her blankets to try to keep warm. Poor girl!
